Our name evolved from the story of the Monarch Butterfly Before it becomes a butterfly, a caterpillar goes through a growth stage during which it is called a chrysalis. The chrysalis is very fragile. On the surface it may not look like much is happening, but within 9 to 12 days the delicate chrysalis process changes the fuzzy caterpillar into an awesome butterfly with wings of intricate design and intense colors. The final step before the Monarch flies is to struggle physically out of the cocoon. This struggle is absolutely necessary to strengthen the wings. Without the struggle the new butterfly is too weak to survive.
